Baxter's letter to the editor
Dear Editor,
Our school needs a set of football nets. At the moment when we play, we use our jackets as posts and this makes them very dirty and muddy. When a goal is scored there is nothing to stop the ball from rolling into the muddy ditch. The ball gets dirty and so do our shoes when we chase after it. Sometimes the ball will go over the fence and when the student goes to climb the fence to get the ball back they get told off by the duty teacher and the ball is lost.
We need a set of goals so the St Martins school football team can practice for the upcoming winter sports season. We really want to do well and win the league. We want to go to the Canterbury’s and come first. Last time we came seventh and this year we want to do better. We could sell chocolate to raise money to buy the nets, or we could do a fiesta where all the classes make something to sell.
St Martins is a great school that could be even better if we had a set of football goals.
Yours Sincerely,
Baxter Parnell
