Search For Hurt and Reading
Hi Guys!
Good effort today in our search for hurt. Really looking forward to finding the hurt over the next few days. One word: STAIRS
Reminder: Finish your reading for homework if you did not finish today in class.
Good start to term 3, remember this is the money term!

The WHY behind Area of a Circle
In Mathematics this week, we have continued our study of the measurement strand.
The Pythagoras Group has been looking specifically at:
Perimeter and area of a: square, rectangle, triangle and circle (circumference)
Volume of a: cube, rectangular prism, triangular prism, cylinder and cone
The Pythagoras group has been learning Karate Maths to help them remember the formulas for
each (ask your child to demonstrate!). It is important however, that we
understand the WHY for each... this is not so easy!
Below is a video that helps to explain the WHY behind the area of a circle. Check it out!
